Our History Together

The “Great Lockdown” – after quitting our jobs in Destin, Florida we were laid off from our summer ranch jobs in Wyoming due to the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic. Currently, we find ourselves unemployed and staying home to stay safe.

In April, we made the decision to move from Ridgway, Colorado to Destin, Florida to be near family. We worked hard, to establish ourselves in Florida, for the sole purpose of buying an investment property, which we plan to use as passive income, while we work elsewhere. By the end of September, we accomplished that goal. We purchased a lovely 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom condo – with amazing views of the harbor and deeded beach access a short walk away. Here are some before and after photos of our condo.

After 36 consecutive months of travel, we had visited 4 continents, 21 countries, 27 states, and 16 US National Parks. But in April 2018, as funds dwindled our adventure came to its end. Those three years, and the experiences that came from them, changed us as people. Our perspective on people, governments, politics, nature, ourselves, our dreams and our goals all shifted compared to who we were prior to this adventure. We were determine, to settle down, in our favorite stateside mountain town…. Telluride, Colorado. Unfortunately, we couldn’t create an affordable combination of housing and jobs in Telluride, so we moved down valley to Ridgway – which stole our hearts.

By May, just six months after coming up with the idea we shoved off. At that point we had sold everything we owned (e.g. cars, motorcycles, house, furniture, clothes, etc.) except the gear we need to enjoy our adventures. We were left with a PO box, a 10′ x 10′ storage unit, and an eye on the horizon. And so our three-years of full-time travel began.

Sadly our beloved dog Jasmine died on December 20th, after 15-years of a beautiful life. As sad as this was she had set us free. A week after she died, we sat down and made a bucket list of everything we wanted to do… climb all the 14ers in California, climb in Nepal, climb Denali, see Lions in the wild, see the Northern lights, shark dive in South Africa, scuba dive the barrier reef, see the great pyramids… the list went on and on. So we started to list out the best times of year to do things, how much it would cost, and how much we really wanted to invest in the idea.

August 15, 2014 we got married!

This is the year our adventure together began in earnest. Liz gave up an amazing job teaching in Leadville, Colorado and moved back to the Denver front range to live with Sean – as he owned a home. This step presented us with new and unexpected challenges, some of which we faced with grace and compassion and some with reluctance and antipathy. But we were able to work through them by embracing vulnerable and working through our fears, shame, and thoughts that held us back. As a result, those experiences forged us as a couple and as a team. We started a business together, traveled as often as we could, did countless weekend warrior adventures together, and we solidified the kind of life we wanted to life together.

In December we took our first international trip together, then over the course of the next three-years we spent time hiking, climbing, skiing, diving, and traveling. We spent endless hours on trail, talking, listening, becoming best friends, and falling madly in love.

Mutual friends introduced us… and our story together began.
