Maintenance Checklist

Daily

Patios, balconies, and other sitting areas

  • Collect glasses, mugs, plates, etc., and return them to the service area
  • Collect trash, plant debris, cigarette/cigar butts, and discard
  • Return outdoor furniture to desired locations, dust or clean as necessary
  • Fluff pillows and cushions
  • Sweep or blow off ground as necessary

Grounds

  • Inspect water sprinkling systems for leaks
  • Water flower beds, potted plants, trees, and shrubs as needed
  • Check all exterior lights and interior common area lights and replace bulbs as needed
  • Reorganize and tidy any recreational equipment (e.g. kayaks, SUPS, tennis courts, skeet range, etc.)
  • Organize and re-stock skeet range equipment; eye protection, ear protection, gloves, skeet thrower, clay pigeons, etc.
  • Sweep or blow off ground as necessary

Barns

  • Replace hay and feed
  • Fill water troughs/check automatic waterers
  • Muck and reset stalls
  • Check pest mitigation traps
  • Clean alleys and feed areas
  • Organize saddles on stands, dry blankets, and pads
  • Organize all tack

Weekly

Interior

  • Flush every toilet once each week (if not used regularly) and inspect for leaks
  • Run water in every sink once per week and inspect for leaks
  • Clean drains, remove hair, and debris
  • Inspect windows, windowsills, and window frames for
    condensation
  • Check every light and replace bulbs as needed
  • Check function of fans, heaters, humidifiers, and dehumidifiers
  • Check smoke detectors and fire preventions systems
  • Check appliance water and electrical connections
  • Check HVAC systems and filters
  • Check pest management systems
  • Check for moldy odors

  • Clean furniture, grills, and smokers

Grounds

  • Check water and septic systems (e.g. softeners, test water, monitor salt supply)
  • Check propane tanks; portable and fixed
  • Adjust the water sprinkler timers if necessary
  • Water the grass, flower beds, potted plants, trees, and shrubs
  • Check grounds and buildings for damage and create repair plans
  • Check gutters and downspouts for proper draining
  • Check common area entry door hinges, latches, and weather stripping
  • Check outside of buildings for broken windows and/or screens
  • Mow grass
  • Apply weed control as necessary
  • Trim and edge lawn
  • Prune shrubs and bushes
  • Sweep or blow off the parking lot
  • Rake trimmings, leaves, etc.
  • Reorganize and clean any recreational equipment (e.g. kayaks, SUPS, tennis courts, etc.)
  • Organize, clean, and re-stock skeet range equipment; eye protection, ear protection, gloves, skeet thrower, clay pigeons, etc.
  • Restock other recreational supplies
  • Organize and tidy of mechanical/electrical/utility rooms

Barns

  • Clean ceiling and exhaust fans
  • Clean water buckets
  • Clean feeders
  • Check stalls for safety hazards
    • Tighten screws or nails that may have popped out
    • Be sure that latches are securely attached to doors and gates
    • Inspect the wood for hazardous splinters or splits
  • Remove excess manure from paddocks
  • Restack and organize hay and feed
  • Reset pest mitigation traps
  • Clean and inspect saddles and tack
